If I turn over this card

I will go that way

If I turn over that card

I won’t move an inch

If I turn over this this card and it speaks for the stars

I might die, fall in love, find the answer

to the questions that burn in my brain at night.

Or

I can leave them face down

in row

and let my future

an amoral, untrained beast snarling and snapping, sometimes feasting

in the Jungle of my life

run wild across the face of every clock in the world

every google map on every phone in every hand I walk by

and

when it can’t run anymore

I might take a breather

turn over the cards and say:

What do you know it looks like my stars really did line up

on those days.
