Hotter Then The Sun

Fandango’s Dog Days of August #24- “ Fun Fact About Me

Fun Fact about Anita Marie:

I have almost been hit by lighting three times.

As a side note:

A bolt of lightning can reach temperatures of roughly  53,540 degrees Fahrenheit. The sun, on the other hand, is eclipsed in this case – its surface temperature is just 10,340 degrees Fahrenheit

The first time I was  nearly hit was when I was walking home from school and a storm broke out. I saw a flash out of the corner of my eye and when it was gone a tree about eight feet to my left had a branch blown off and for a few seconds I couldn’t move and my mouth tasted like pennies I also had trouble hearing for a few days.

The second time I was walking to my car and all of the sudden I couldn’t see or move and when I could I saw the building near to where I was had been hit by lighting and then I saw was a black mark going down one wall and I heard a bunch of people screaming.

I’d like to say I heroically  sprinted to my car and drove away, but when I started to walk I couldn’t feel my feet so I couldn’t walk for a few minutes.

The third time I was in Iowa and I was on a bluff looking down at the Mississippi river and I was about to tell my kids to take a look at something when I heard this crackly sound and the  this silver bolt hit the ground next to me. This time I felt my skin tingle and  I was actually afraid to move because another bolt hit the hill just a little further up from where I was standing.

I thought the lighting was chasing me. I was sort of foggy headed at that point, so it was a weird thought. Scary. But didn’t make any sense.

There was a fourth time, but I was inside and the lighting actually hit the tree outside my bedroom window. I had the misfortune of looking into my bathroom mirror when it hit so I saw the flash in the mirror and the reflection  actually affected my eyes for about a week.

So that’s a fun fact about me- I’ve almost been hit by lighting a bunch of times, but I haven’t been hit yet.
