Here we go, marching into a New Year.

Last year I said I was going to write more

and I did.

Last year I said I would try to branch out

and try new things in writing and I did

( that would be poetry ).

I also promised to have more fun and that

sort of happened- I got into the color book experience

and that has been fun.

I’m glad I did it.

Given that I had a pretty good track record with this New Year’s Resolution thing

I think that this year I’m going to set a new goal:

See you on the other side of Midnight.

Our Random View Prompt: Favorite Christmas Carol

 

There are a lot of Christmas Carols that are fun to sing and listen to but my favorite of all time is:

We Three Kings

What a cool song- the images are there, the story is there, the adventure is there- in a Christmas song!

There is nothing sweet and quiet and passive in this Christmas Song- and to make it even better, I’ve read that the Three Magi rode horses to Bethlehem.

 

That is just to cool for me to wrap my brain around.

 

So here is to adventure, to hope and three guys who set out with nothing more then a star and dream to guide them.

watches  Santa Claus

fly away in his magic sleigh

 

Mrs Claus

wondered if Santa Claus

ever looked back at her

and said:

I wish I could  be you tonight

 

stranded below the stars

I wish I could be you tonight

alone looking up at the stars

 

Mrs Claus

watches Santa Claus

Sail up to the moon

wrapped in magic and dreams and hope

 

Mrs Claus

always wonders how Santa Claus

can fly to the stars

and leave her stranded below

for that wonderful night

alone.

For 2017 I resolve to:

Write more.

Eat more cupcakes that involve bacon.

Explore a ghost town or two or three

Eat cupcakes that involve bacon and extra frosting.

Wait up

I’m not done yet.

I also resolve to:

Learn Belly Dancing

Eat cupcakes that involve bacon, extra frosting and a side of Lavender Flavored Gelato.

I also want to write a poem about love that does not involve rotting corpses and empty graves-wait,  that’s a maybe. Come to think of it. It ain’t happening so-

I will eat more cupcakes that involve bacon, extra frosting, a side of Lavender Flavored Gelato and Pixie Sticks…with a bacon chaser.

I don’t know about you- but I know for a fact that 2017 is going to be sweet

and

bacony.
