Wanted For Questioning

Poetry, Day One: Water

Let’s get started with the essentials: today, write a poem about water.

Emily Carr

-Emily Carr

On my lips

against my skin

Cool, soft, inviting

Water

Up to my chin

over my face

silencing my screams

Water

It whispers

it creeps

it wiped away my footsteps

and

every trace

that I was once  here

Water

The Quiet Witness

DAILY PROMPT

Write a new post in response to today’s one-word prompt

Witness

Vilhelm Hammershoi

The window watched

the walls heard it all

the door swung open wide

together they  screamed

The room will never know light

the floors will always be soaked

in blood

Open the door, look through the window

You will hear

the scream.
