History of A Snazzy Wanna Be

RDP Tuesday: History

I tried to be prettier

I tried to find a style

so that I could look snazzy, edgy and cool.

But of course I was not

pretty, stylish, edgy snazzy or cool.

I was just me.

Once I asked my Grandma to buy me some makeup for my 14 birthday

and she looked at me  and said,

” You have a nice personality.”

Of course I am sure you have guessed

I do no have a nice personality

either.

Marty and Fin

Fandango’s One-Word Challenge: TAKEN

‘Untitled‘ by Mariko Klug

Under a dark sky

wrapped in a blanket of shadows

and warm soft earth

is a someone’s secret.

The Secret has a name.

It’s  Marty.

He was 24 years old.

He will always be 24 years old.

Marty is missed by a dog name Fin.

Fin still waits for him at the end of the drive

where they used to live

before Marty was taken, eight months ago.

Fin thinks Marty will come back one day.

I think Fin is right.

Ghosts may wander aimlessly

but the taken always find their way back,

even when their eyes have been cruelly  and without mercy closed.

Given Life and Beloved- Month of Love#9

Paula Light’s challenge: , “Let’s celebrate the month of lurve (aka love) by posting one thing we love every day throughout February.

Sometimes you read something, like a poem or you hear a song and you say- wow that really is about  true love.

Sometimes though, these tributes show up in unexpected places.

Even if you don’t know anything about ancient Egypt or Pharaohs and their wives, it’s easy enough to see how much this Pharaohs loved his wife.

It wasn’t expressed through the carvings and monuments you see here.

It’s what he had written about his love for her:

“A temple of great and Mighty monuments, for the Great Royal Wife Nefertari Meryetmut, for whose sake the (very) sun does shine, given life and beloved”

For whose sake, the Sun does shine.

Beautiful.
