A Halloween quote-
“If human beings had genuine courage, they’d wear their costumes every day of the year, not just on Halloween.” ~ Douglas Copeland
A Halloween quote-
A story based on the prompt: Fandango’s Provocative Question #181-
How are you doing? Seriously, are you okay? Feeling good? Just okay? Not so great? Why do you think you’re feeling the way you are?
How am I today?
I think I am a little happier then I was the day before yesterday
and a lot less happy then I was this morning.
Thank you for asking.
How I am doing today?
I guess I’m okay, today I got a letter from a friend
I haven’t heard from in ages, it was a real letter handwritten in Ink
I know weird right?
Things are okay
I was going to grow an herb garden on my deck
but I put it off till next year
because I can’t imagine watching things grow,
sad to say all I see from my windows are things doing the exact opposite of growing.
I’m glad you called, everyone has moved on or moved away- the Covid Migration, you
know?
So I was feeling a little worn out and tired
but at least there are fun movies on tv to watch
and I have some new books to read and I have to decide- Victoria or New Orleans next
year.
What was that?
It’s me- wait what?
Oh. Yeah. I see. Wrong number. You were trying to call who?
Oh yeah. I know her too. She’s nice. Tell her I sai-
No really. That’s okay. It was nice to hear from you. Have a go-
Hello? Are you there?
Were you there?
Hello?
RDP Wednesday: FILAMENT
How romantic, I thought on the day I saw the Sun reach down and touch the face of Anubis in Pioneer Square.
The soft rays must have felt warm and gentle as they fell upon the giant statue’s cold and stoic face.
It was a sweet notion I have kept and think of when I look up into the sky
and I thought it was even a loving gesture until I saw what a solar filament looks like
as it snakes its way around the Sun and now I think I that my notions may have been a little silly.
It’s goes without saying that if the Sun tries to kiss you, love and affection isn’t part of
the the gesture.
If you created a super space suit and you could dive into Saturn, would you?
I would.
Just a warning, if you managed to make it to the core- that may or may not exist-
you’ll die there. Eventually Saturn will squash you like a bug.
This is what Uranus sounds like.
Don’t laugh, it’s science.
The Sun screams, call it sound or call it pressure waves
it’s all the same when there are days to Halloween 56 days to Halloween
