I was scrolling through one of those sites that recommend horror/suspense films and there is always, and I mean ALWAYS the Horror Aficionados who proclaim in as much snark as one can pack into each letter one uses to create a sentence:
” Not scary- ” and then they go on to try and spoil the fun for as many people as they can possibly reach with their witty review.
Here’s the deal.
We know that movies are made up stories. They are created to entertain. We buy a ticket to that ride knowing what we are about to see is not real and by extension one could say, how scary can it be? ” We go into the experience with one foot grounded firmly in reality.
The fun to watching a horror film is your willingness to lift your foot up and jump on the ride.
To paint yourself as someone with nerves of steel who doesn’t get rattled at horror films unless they are truly terrifying I would say:
I hope you’re watching these movies for free because your cheating yourself out of an experience you paid hard cold (debit card- etc etc ) to have. That’s your choice. Just don’t spoil the experience for anyone else.
