It Wasn’t So Bad, After All

I didn’t put my tree up until Christmas morning because until Christmas morning I didn’t feel like putting it up- and it was a new tree too!

Despite the fact I wasn’t into the holiday this year it turned out to be a nice day-my family came over, my turkey was roasted to perfection and my family gave me some great gifts.

We played games and I won some cool prizes ( actually we all won neat prizes ).

That night when me and Hamish went for a walk, my neighbors six year old daughter ( they have regular playdates at the dog park ) popped out from behind a car and yelled “roarrrr”  right into Hamish’s face and took off. Hamish went after her and  they spent about five minutes running in circles – laughing and having a great time.

It was sweet because the only thing that can run faster then Hamish is a racing dog jacked up on speed and it was obvious he wasn’t  tying to catch up with  her.  He didn’t even run. He sort of bunny hopped after her. He just wanted to be with her, having fun-even if he had to slow down to do it.

Sometimes Christmas isn’t the best day of the year and for different reasons it can be a sad one.

But sometimes in all of that, little moments light up  what can be a pretty dark time.

Christmas Morning
2025

December 24,2025

It’s Christmas Eve.

I wish it was snowing instead of raining. I wish I cared more about it but I don’t.

I’m sort of looking forward to New Years Evey more and I don’t know why.

My Santa Story

When you come from a family full of story tellers, the chances that you ever believed in Santa were next to zero- but in the right setting, you knew he was a story you could enjoy.

I loved every Santa story I heard, I loved the pictures, and when my friends turned out to be believers, I didn’t enlighten them. I just let them enjoy their story.

On the other hand, I was pretty much enchanted by the idea of Krampus because he was sort of a secret story and I did have my little fingers crossed that THIS story just might be true.

My Great Aunt had a very old Krampus figure that she sat on her fireplace mantle piece. He was usually seated against the back wall, quietly reading the room. You didn’t exactly notice him right off the bat, but when you did see him it was like, ” hey now, what is that?”

My Grandpa Bert told me about Krampus, he said that Krampus snatched away the bad kids and when I asked what happened to them he  leaned forward and whispered in my ear, ” nobody knows. ”

So I was about five years old when I discovered that there was a story about a Christmas Monster and

I could not have been more thrilled.

Jingle Those Bells!!!

I did not think there was a way to freshen up that ol’ standard ” Jingle Bells ” but Ummet Ozcan did it!

If you’re going to sing about horses jingling their way through the snow, then you should know that Mongolian horses are resilient and integral part of Mongolia’s culture, known for their enduranceadaptability, and historical significance.

The breed is purported to be largely unchanged since the time of Genghis Khan. Nomads living in the traditional Mongol fashion still hold more than 3 million animals, which outnumber the country’s human population. In Mongolia, the horses live outdoors all year, dealing with temperatures from 30 °C (86 °F) in summer down to −40 °C (−40 °F) in winter, and they graze and search for food on their own.

Mongolian horses are glorious animals and when you hear Jingle Bells, I hope you spare a thought for these amazing animals.

So here you are!

Mongolian Jingle Bells is here! This started as a fun idea… and thanks to all of the requests Ummet  Ozcan received , it turned into a full song and music video!
