The Eyes Have It

One-To Three Photo Processing Challenge- March 2022

I didn’t exactly follow the rules for this prompt.

In it you were supposed to take a picture and process it using three different methods.

I used the photo editor in my Word program for all three.

I ran my picture through three different filters and I felt like I got three new stories just by adjusting the colors- I may go back and do this again with another photo later.

As a side note, I liked the last picture the best.

Cemetery Angels

RDP Tuesday: ANGEL

I suppose that Angels are comforting

to those in need

and they look boss on top of your Christmas Tree

But I like my angels cast in marble and stone

forever friends

to our sleeping bones.

My Favorite Things

October and December are the only months in the ENTIRE year that I look forward to and I enjoy them for the same reasons:

The music, the ghost stories, the food, the snow, the dark,  the cold and those wonderful cloud filled skies.

So when I saw today’s RDP  Prompt was DECEMBER the song ” A Few of My Favorite Things” popped into my head and how is this for a coincidence, my son Julio sent me these pictures from Fox Lake Wisconsin of two of my favorite things in one frame:

Cemeteries and SNOW.

I like whiskers on kittens too. Just in case you are curious.

Goodnight Florence

This unique grave that can be found in Natchez City Cemetery in Mississippi  belongs to a 10-year-old girl named Florence Irene Ford who passed away from yellow fever back in 1871. When the little girl died, her mother named Ellen had a small window installed at the head of her daughter’s casket, and a narrow stairway built six feet down to the level of the window.

Why would she do that?

Florence was terrified of storms, so her Mother wanted to make sure she was able to comfort her daughter-even in death.

I can appreciate what Ellen ford was doing for her daughter, I even understand it. But the image of a woman walking down to comfort her daughter in her grave- not above it, not beside it but in it ( so to speak ) during a thunderstorm is an image that will probably haunt me for a long time.
