The Devil You Say!

Write your own version of those holiday newsletters that people send to friends and relatives at this time of year.

Dear Fam and Friends

I hope you had a fantabulous year!

I was super duper lucky enough to have a Facebook/Instagram  2024 life, my pictures and quips got lots of likes and I promise that I really do look like my selfies in real life!

I am planning to cook a great XMAS dinner and oh boy, wouldn’t you know it? My tree is already up and lit and loaded down with ornaments that I have collected on my many many trips to the Mall- sweet memories are encased in each glass bauble. Life in the suburbs is grand.

I would also like to share that all of my children are all still  all tall, blond, full of sunshine and light and are well within their BMI- I could not be more proud.  I know that sound like a big over the top brag, ‘the devil you say- nobody’s life or family can be that perfect.

But I  am truly blessed.

My life is perfect and I want to share it with the world because I am so thankful.

So with that that I would like to wish you and yours a Merry Christmas!

Christmas Journal Prompt#7

I only give Christmas gifts to my dog, Hamish and my Granddaughter Jemma.

Everyone else gets gift cards.

I used to buy presents until I found out most of the gifts I gave sucked so bad and so hard that they were never even re gifted.

That included the ones I made, or baked or spent hours shopping for.

I always- without exception- got the gift thing wrong

EVERY

SINGLE

TIME.

So now when people start doing the ‘ ho ho ho and what do you want for Christmas thing, I say  ‘to be taller and blond’.

I actually mean that.

I am happy to report that most of the people who told me my gifts were meaningless and stupid are no longer in my life, which I suppose is a gift in itself.

One that I can honestly say I cherish.

I celebrate Christmas, but I don’t celebrate it if you know what I mean.

I really used to love it- the decorating, the music, baking, shopping for presents.

Then I found out my life was a lie, and then POOF the magic was gone.

The funny thing is, I’m not sad about this situation.

What I feel is anger.
