Seasons 2024

I put together this series of pictures to tell a little story about last year’s seasons.

I didn’t put a lot of thought into it, I approached it like the way I would I stream of consciousness writing excercise.

Thank you to Bushboys’ post about ” This is January 2025 ” for the inspiration!

Spring:

I used to have a fabulous herb garden and in the Spring I was out there everyday working on it,. Then I moved to toilet town and I don’t have a garden anymore. But I still have Hamish and he loves the spring. He gets a little impatient when I stop to take his picture because he is so intent on tracking.

Hamish knows how to live in the moment.

I need to work on that.

I hate summer.

The only thing I like about the Summer is watching my Sun  worshiping friends turning into a leathery looking mummies right before my eyes.  It’s like a NatGeo show about Mummies only I don’t have to pay a cable provider to watch it.

It goes without say that I won’t put a picture up of any of my Mummy friends because I don’t want to blow that gig. Also, I don’t have a lot of friends so I don’t want to make anybody mad and hurt their feelings.

Instead here is a picture of a boat that is slowly being reclaimed by the Sound. It’s like the Body Farm in Tennessee for boats.

It probably smells a little better then the body farm and you don’t have to be up to date on your vaccinations to explore it.

At least I don’t think you do- whoa I hope your don’t!

I love the Fall. I love the promise of winter. I like the food. I like the fun events. I like the sound of dry leaves rustling along the ground when it’s windy. I love it because the Ghosts are on their way for a visit.

Winter.

After a long year. After all of the drama. Winter comes along and it’s time to bundle up, to be quiet and wait for it to snow.

I spend all  year waiting for the winter.

I am waiting right now.

The Crosswalk

Yesterday I saw something weird when I was stopped at a red light in the crosswalk to my left.

It looked like someone wearing a cape.

I thought it was a homeless person- a tall homeless person- and his head was shaped funny. I thought maybe he had the blanket ( cape? ) draped over his head  and that’s why he looked odd.

I turned my eyes toward the traffic light and when I glanced back into the crosswalk he was gone.

Today I was driving home from work and couldn’t cross through the intersection because there were emergency vehicles there.

My neighbor told me someone had died while they were driving down the hill and their car had collided with the cars in front of it.

I’ve been avoiding that intersection.

To be honest, I’m scared to drive through it now.

My Grandfathers.

I do not have to wonder what they would think of Trump and what he has done to the United States.

When their world was shaken by people like Trump, they fought it back and won.

I just wish they were here to tell me that we are going to get through this.
