How Sweet!

Back in 2007 or maybe 2008 a friend of mine posted this clip in the comment section of my blog as a joke.

Turns out I ended up loving the song, I’ve gone on to share it with my Granddaughters and when I remember, I post it at Halloween because Gummy Bears are a candy- a candy that can sing and vamp it up in music videos:

I never really did a deep dive into the history of the song, because it was about Gummy Bears- I figured it was a commercial or something along those lines.

I was wrong,  it wasn’t a commercial at all.

It was written by  Christian Schneider, and he just  happens to be the CEO of Gummy Bear International and he’s written candy related songs before.

I’m sorry I missed this one:

Christian Philipp Schneider (also credited as simply Papabär and Gumi Papa) is a Serbian-born composer, producer and writer for most of the songs of the Gummibär series. He is the creator of the Gummibär character and the successful song I Am A Gummy Bear. A resident of Germany, Christian would later found the company Gummybear International, which would be charged to produce a large amount of Gummibär-related products.

Christian found inspiration for Gummy Bear song while w enjoying his beer  in a bar Germany.

A female patron  told him he was her gummy bear, and his first reaction was ‘No…what?” ,  And his response was ‘I’m your gummy bear.’

The interaction was enough for a light bulb to go off in his head. A tune was born and he recorded it on his Walkman.

Here is the version in German, which if you ask me is pretty sweet too:

Having Fun With Words

This Fun Creative Writing Exercise Will Change Your Life

( Playing With Words )

Fun creative writing prompt- you choose one word and then another word and  you keep going and you’re not supposed to care where you go, the words don’t even have to go together.

However I started with cemetery and went to popsicles and bits and pieces of a day at work came back to me, so I improvised. But that’s what being creative is all about!

This was a fun prompt-follow the link above and give it a try.

amm

Cemetery

popsicles

crunchy leaves

dogs on leashes

who is in that car

Cherry blossoms are gone

crows dancing on graves

she shot herself at dawn

by the reflection pond

Marble cats, granite angels

the caretaker’s cottage

is full of empty coffins.

(Playing With Sounds and Words )

Crackle

Crunch

 Snap

and

Grind

angry teeth fighting

behind bloodless lips

kiss me when I’m angry

do I taste like pennies or nickels?
