Month of Love #3

Paula Light’s challenge: , “Let’s celebrate the month of lurve (aka love) by posting one thing we love every day throughout February.

I love the color Pink. I love thin crunchy cookies.

I love sleeping in on Saturday. In fact, Saturday is my favorite day of the week.

I also love the planet Saturn.

When I was in grade school I remember looking at a chart of the planets and in one of the pictures Saturn was floating on water. I’m not sure why that endeared me to ” The Lord of The Rings ” but it did.

Annnddd to top it off, my Great Grandmother’s name is Saturnina.

I loved the  the Roman God  Saturnus   too- he taught people about agriculture, his festivals were like Christmas and New Years all rolled into one. His partner was a goddess named Lua who was associated with plagues and destruction.

He sounded like an all around great guy to me.

Remember how I said my Great Grandmother’s name was Saturnina? Well, she had a daughter named Lua, we called her Lulu.

I don’t know what was going on with those names in my family. I guess they were big on Myths.

I was too, I loved Greek and Roman Mythology more then Fairy Tales. I could NOT get enough of them so I was pretty hip to the stories by the time I was about 13.

So there you have it-another day of lurve  🙂  and do you know what surprises me the most about this challenge?

I’ve been sort of grim and stressed and I really didn’t think I loved anything at this point. But I do… this challenge is actually a lot of fun!

Reclining Oceanus-Saturnus, the lower part of whose body is covered by a redblue cloak. The naked breast has a red colour. Behind his shoulders the remnants of a blue velum are visible, which he has wrapped over his head. The right guilded hand hold a part of a stick, probably an oar; Both arms are lacking. In his left shoulder a leaden tube is visible, which probably leads to the upraised left hand in which he held a patera.

Month of Love#2

Paula Light’s challenge: , “Let’s celebrate the month of lurve (aka love) by posting one thing we love every day throughout February.

This was my favorite Christmas Ambience Video and I’m still loving it.

I would love to have a room like this one- it’s perfect. The colors are warm, there’s a fireplace- lots of room to write or read or play some music.

Heavy sigh.

It may look like Christmas, but to me it looks like a little bit o’ heaven.

Month of Love#1

I’m playing catch up because I thought this was a fun challenge.

I can do that!

So for day #1  I’m posting a picture of my dog, Hamish Macbeth.

This is my favorite photo of him. I like seeing his paw prints, I love the way he is tilting his head and I love that he found this homemade bow in the bushes and that he insisted on carry it on walks for nearly a month.

He still carries it sometimes but he’s got a new dog friend and I don’t think he wants to share it. So he leaves it at home when Gunner is around.
