Haunting Visitors

Hauntober Prompt: HAUNTED

There isn’t a ghost, there are no ghouls, there isn’t a single thing in my cemetery pictures that you could call spooky or macabre.

The fact still remains, I find these pictures haunting all the same:

The ‘Ber Months Are Here

RDP Tuesday: WHIM

I  jumped onto  the ” Ber ” month celebration train on a whim.

I didn’t even know that ” Ber ” months was a thing, but I liked the enthusiasm I saw for these months. There were FB groups dedicated to it, blogs, craft books, even music lists.

It’s like a party that goes on for four months.

Cool.

Now when September rolls into town, I pull out my Halloween, Christmas and New Years decorations. I get my supplies for my Día de los Muertos Ofrendas. I start writing about Halloween in particular and I start thinking about ghost stories for December.

Above all, I like the ” Ber ” months because I truly hate Summer and the ‘ber months ‘ give me time to the bad taste of Summer out of my mouth and wash it off of my skin.

Now.

I’m going to go happy dance and get back to writing about Halloween.

The Watchers

Summerween Prompt: GRAVE

If you explore cemeteries, sometimes you will find dogs or sheep carved onto gravestones ( mostly for children )

It’s sad to say that most of the gravestones are very old- considering how how the mortality rate for children used to be, so there aren’t very many new ones and these older gravestones  are fading with age.

The thing of it is, we put those animals there- the dogs, the sheep because of the religious significance and as far as dogs- for protection and companionship.

However, there are times when animals just decide to  claim the gravestones for their own and for their own reasons.
