Motor Mouth

Journal Prompt:

  • Write about a recent conflict and what you learned from it.

I work with someone who talks over people- loudly- when he wants to make a point and I suppose he wants you to STFU and see things his way.

He’s done that to me a few times.

When he does that I think to myself,  ” I know what you’ll look like a week after you’ve been rotting in your coffin ”

It makes me smile.

I’m pretty sure he thinks I’m smiling in agreement and do you know what?

I think I’ll just keep letting him think that.

I ‘ve been watching horror movies that are showing up on FB pages by horror movie fans.

They seem to think that because they’re not easy to scare or impress that they’re experts on what scares us and what a good horror story is.

I was on a train that someone chose to walk in front of and when the train stopped, their torso and one of their legs was right outside of my window.

I put my headphones on and listened to Mozart until the body was collected and removed and the train was released.

It wasn’t the first time I had seen human remains in terrible condition.

And it wasn’t the last time the sight of them made me sad.

A bullshitter lives in perpetual fear of being found out.

I ride the train with this guy who waits for you to say something like, ” I like the color blue ”  he’ll tell you a story about how he invented the color blue and that he could have invented more colors but he knows a guy who invented the color orange and WOW was that a great color. He keeps company with a lot of people who invent colors.

When I see him get on the train my left eye starts to pound.

I love it when people tell stories.

But there’s a big difference between someone telling stories and  somebody fertilizing my brain.

Lost In Thought

When I am lost, I always hear music.

It’s never a tune I am familiar with.

It’s just strange is all.
