has been

etched in my skin

carved on my face

inked on my bones

I have ever been

brought to life

with my pen

has a home

in my bones

on my face

flows through my veins

like warm blood, a soft breath, a laugh

a scream from the bottom of my soul

from the darkness of my heart

where the light has never been

for you to see

for me to feel

I am story

told on cold dark nights

when  the fog creeps in

and you are all alone

with me.

A promise for a kiss

a kiss for a promise

a heart for a soul

I  will not surrender the key for the lock

to the only door out

of my dark and empty house.

 

The garden out back is over grown and wild

the flowers, the birds and the trees all died

the cats stroll through looking for snacks

and there’s a hive in the apple tree

it’s a tomb for the  bees

that dream in death about warm,  sweet Spring days.

 

There’s a swing

on the porch

that rocks on it’s own

and there is music  haunting the living room

in the dark and empty house

that used to be my home.

You have such a big mouth

that’s all anyone sees

when you open it and talk

there’s  nothing to hear

you have such a big mouth

you need to shut it,.

 

You are not as smart as you think you are

quit being a show off, let someone else have a turn

just because you read a lot

doesn’t mean your smart

did you hear me? You have such a big mouth, you need to shut it.

 

Nothing you do

hasn’t been done  better by others before

quit acting like you are so special you’re just a show off

even you know it’s true

Wipe smile off your face and while you are at

You have a big mouth, you need to shut it.

 

Why won’t you go out

why don’t you have any friends

why don’t you act like a normal girl, a regular kid

it’s like you don’t even really exist.

All you do is sit there and stare

Speak! Say Something! That’s what your big mouth is for.

RDP Tuesday: SHARK

 

I am afraid

of your eyes.

 

I know that they are just like mine, so what is there really to fear?

 

They are dark, clear, you have blind spots

just like me too. Two eyes, that is all they are.

No monsters, no demons, nothing wicked hiding  in there.

 

So I suppose the reason

that I am so deathly afraid of your eyes

Is that if  I spend too time watching them,

I might not see your teeth as you open your mouth wide

until it is to late.
