Nothing

Photographer Uknown

Yesterday

I spent hours and hours looking at nothing.

There wasn’t a dot of color, a hint of warmth in  the image

I was sitting in front of

upon a wooden chair

that captivated me and held me prisoner

late yesterday afternoon.

Then

I heard a door slam,

I heard someone call my name

I shook my head, I rubbed my eyes

and that’s when I realized

I had been staring into a mirror

all day

yesterday afternoon.

  1. Wow this is so powerful and you capture the rapture of a catatonic state in deep depression, which I too can relate to, living with bipolar disorder. Thank you for this and I wish you strength, faith and peace x
