May 29,2025- PICTURE DAY!

From my train commute- just a view that I really like. The boat is decomposing so I have thought of this place as the ” Body Farm “. I named it that for the real life ” Body Farms ” where forensic anthropologists study the ground around human remains for evidence — soil acidity can indicate how long a body has been leeching fluids into the Earth. Forensic anthropologists also study  the effects of weather and environment on human remains.

I wanted a picture of a ferry to send to my Granddaughter- it’s a challenge to take one from a moving train! But this time I got it. It doesn’t haven’t to be perfect picture but when I saw it I thought it was ok. I could work with it, I thought.
I was going to crop it when I noticed I had been photo bombed by a dog- which wasn’t totally unexpected because we were also passing a dog park.
What made it perfect was what the dog was doing.

I was explaining to my son why I liked taking the train to work and I told him I liked it because I always saw something new.

But that’s not entirely true.

I  always see boats, I see eagles and crows and Sea Lions. I see dogs at the beach side dog park. I see the same ferries and I see people taking lessons at the Scuba Diving school.

On the day I decided to participate in this prompt and I looked at these two pictures taken a second apart on my phone I had my Eureka moment.

The new thing I see that makes everything look different is the light.

The light makes  our everyday world  look new.
