A Teenager In Love

WP Daily Prompt: What’s your definition of romantic?

Lee Morris -Worlds made in Midjourney

I was friends with a woman who wrote tons poetry ( Well, porn-etry ) about her new found love and well into her 60’s decided to take up rollerblading because she had found her ‘soul mate ‘ and she felt young again.

She told me about her new ‘wardrobe’ from Victoria Secret and the books of ” erotic art ‘ that they enjoyed together.

These were expensive books created by respected artists- she said.

She told me about the restaurants they explored together and how it felt like something as  simple as eating in an establishment that gave it’s younger patrons crayons to occupy themselves while they wait for their meal   felt like a golden adventure.

This, she told,  me was her enjoying ‘romance’ like a teenager.

The short of it is, in my mind what she described to me came down to Pizza and Porn and sitting around in her  underwear with her ‘soulmate’ so-

just as I was thinking she was a Dofus who was painting a picture of ‘true love’ worthy of being stamped on greeting card or turned into a lifetime movie it occurred to me, she really was enjoying romance like a teenager again.

I’d rather sit on  a beach at night and wait for a ghost ship to sail by, but that’s me and I am no teenager.

True Love Is –

WP Prompters  want to know  What’s your definition of romantic? I thought I’d take a stab at it:

” Shell ” By Gertrude Abercrombie

I want to share with you just a bit  about my constant and true companion- the one creature has supported me through the good times and the bad no matter how much weight I threw on it’s shoulders, who always seems to have a smile on it’s face even though I can’t always see it and will be there with me when I draw my last breath-

I speak these  heartfelt words  about  my dear Skeleton.

I love you to death and beyond my Dearest Enduring Bones for being there when no one else is. I shall never forgot your devotion to me and I shall sing your praises and send you roses for every single holiday and anniversary and I will never ever trade  you for another.

I just don’t have it in me- you know that better then anyone my love.
