Experience Writing Halloween Prompt: Spiders

How could anybody think ill of spiders, especially at Halloween?

Spiders have inspired the ghoulish, creepy haunted houses we’ve all visited, with their finely spun webs and curtain webs decorated with spiders, leaves, and mist.

Their light steps have been imitated in horror movies, their bodies have inspired  Halloween costumes, and they even show up painted on our fingernails.

Spiders are the Martha Stewart of the Halloween universe, and their skills are unsurpassed.

When I am out and about in my day-to-day world and I see a spider’s web hanging from a tree or the wind chimes on my porch, I always stop to admire their work.

I always say hello, and I even say, “Lovely work. ”

Being a good neighbor is something we should be for our non-human neighbors too.
