Seattle’s Best Girl Ever

Seattle has put out some very famous people:

Jimmy Hendrix, Sir Mix -A-lot and Gypsy Rose Lee.

But I am lucky enough to have met Eclipse the the dog who became world famous for  riding a bus to the Dog Park alone not once- but many times alone  before she  passed away in 2022

This Good Girl Takes The Bus Everyday To The Dog Park All By Herself And Even Has Her Own Bus Pass Attached To Her Collar

“Eclipse ” Photographer Unknown

Eclipse had learned her route and one day when her Dad was holding up her park time, she hopped on the bus alone and got off at her stop: ( story in video below)

I didn’t meet Eclipse on the bus- I met her at a park and by the time I had met her, she was famous and she wasn’t riding the bus alone anymore.

But one day I was passing a park and there she was! I Couldn’t believe it. I rang the bell and hopped off my bus and when my friends asked me what I was doing, I said ” That’s Eclipse!” so about six of us got off our bus and went to pet Eclipse.

So no, I didn’t get any pictures of Eclipse that day.

Sometimes when you’re in the moment it’s best to stay there and I’m glad I did.

Eclipse was a very Good Girl.

I was friends with a girl when I was growing up who had, how shall I put this kindly- she had a problem with telling the truth. She’d tell untruths about something as simple as what she ate for lunch.

I’m not sure why she did that, I know her brother was really mean to her and that she was adopted and  she felt like her  parents didn’t really like her,  but  looking back on it I’m not sure that was true that she was adopted.

Her brother was a jerk though. But the funny thing is, she never really talked about him.

So we grow up together, go through school together and about 10 years after we graduate she is on the news.

The newsstory was about a murder trial and she was on the witness stand and the person she was testifying against was found guilty.

Until that point I thought that when people said that they could feel their blood turn to ice in their veins was a saying. Well it’s not. It’s true.

My blood turned to ice in my veins as I listened to her, and the thought I held on to as I watched her was that there was a lot of other evidence in that trial for the jury to consider. Maybe too, after she grew up she stopped with the lying and the story telling.

That is very possible, right?
