Hunting for Halloween: Memories, Mummies, and Mischief

Experience Writing Halloween Photo Challenge: Take a picture of a monster hunter, a spook detective, or a supernatural crime scene.

I took all of these pictures over the years near or on Halloween.  I would call them my hunter collection because, at their heart, they are all about hunting.

This crow followed me around the cemetery. He was hunting for something; I’m not sure what. He was nice company, and he turned up in a few pictures

My son and a robot- who is hunting who?

This was my Hamish Macbeth’s first Halloween. He looks like he’s laughing at this crime scene display, doesn’t he?

The very first mummies I ever saw were at Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe in Seattle, Washington. I didn’t have to go all the way to Egypt and hunt down a mummy; I just walked into this great shoppe and saw my very first one. I was around eight years old.

I guess you could say I grew up with Sylvester. Whenever I go to the Pier, I drop in to visit him.

For years, the general belief has been that he was the victim of a late 19th-century shooting in the Arizona desert, and that the extreme dryness of the desert naturally mummified the body.[6] However, CT scans in 2001, 2005 and an MRI in 2005 suggest an embalmer injected an arsenic-based fluid shortly after death. The body is one of the best-preserved mummies known.[11][12] Newly published information and a photograph from 1892 indicate that “Sylvester,” originally named “McGinty,” belonged to confidence man “Soapy” Smith until he sold it in 1895 in Hillyard, Washington.

No Vampire Hunters allowed!

You can’t see it clearly here, but this gentleman was wearing a nice set of acrylic fangs.
