The Dancing Statue

Last Summer I was at Pike Place Market in Seattle when I walked by a lovely statue of a lady in old fashioned clothes. She was posed outside of a bookstore.

My son, who was walking right behind me sort of yelled out ” Wow- hey- what? Man!”

I turned around to find the statue was dancing. She was graceful dancer and her gestures were smooth, fluid  and very lady like.

Of course I knew by then that the statue was an actor, but she looked like stone and never once did she look at us directly- it felt like she did.

Just like a real statue.

2017 was coming to and end when I took this picture.

I was in a dark alley, the scene of a suicide and a murder and haunted by ghosts our tour guide said.

I  took my time going through it towards the light and I eventually rejoined the rest of the sizable tour group.

But I did move forward.

Eventually.

It Was A Brilliant Ending

Let’s play terror

in a theatre full of flames

Let’s play terror

we will  burn upon the stage

Let’s fall together

let’s take a bow

Let’s play theatre

where death applauds

from  every row.
