In a Word

“If you prick us, do we not bleed? if you tickle us, do we not laugh? if you poison us, do we not die? and if you wrong us, shall we not revenge?”. – (Act III, scene I).”
William Shakespeare, The Merchant of Venice

If you don’t do it on Facebook or Instagram …sorry Mr Shakespeare- in a word the answer is NO.

Roomies!

Dickens’ wrote in a Christmas Carol that we should keep Christmas in our hearts year round.

Can do will do Mr Dickens!

But it will have to share room in there with Halloween.

The Owner Of The House

RDP Monday: DUENDE

She asked her husband, once, why he never read what she wrote

she asked her best friend

her sister

and her son

the same question.

” Because, ” her husband said

and her sister and best friend told her

and

her Son admitted

that it was bad enough to see the monsters

looking out from her eyes

and to hear the ghosts in her voice

and catch the Devil in her face

but the thought of seeing them

on a page

and in their hands

now

free of the house

where they live with me- under word and key

would mean that the ghosts and devils and monsters

were

loose and that  the Ghosts and Devils and Monsters

know who

my

Husband

and

Son

and Sister

and best friend

are

and where they live  and sleep.

And Many More

Several years ago, just before my birthday

I had to remove the remains

of a woman my age

from a care center

where she died alone.

There was a little yellow Beanie Baby Bear on her nightstand and someone had put pale blue fuzzy socks on her feet.  I think one of her care givers gave her the bear and bought her the fuzzy socks.

It must have been nice for her, to have someone care for her like that in the end.

Since then when my birthday rolls around – which had never been a pleasant time for me- I think of it as ‘our Birthday’ and it makes the day a little more tolerable.

Sad.

But tolerable.
