Honey Mummies

I am fascinated by the fact that ancient Egyptians incorporated honey and beeswax into the complex mixtures of oils, balms, and plant resins used to anoint the body and treat hair or skin during the ritual process of mummification.

Some people who have written about this process refer to these mummies as ‘honey mummies.’

I love to share that Bit O’ Honey information with the people in my life if I catch them popping a honey cough drop into their mouth or adding honey to their tea, because we all need to have a sweet laugh now and then.
