In Your Eye

I was in a relationship with a guy

who told me he had a ‘friend’ who dated unattractive women because they would

‘appreciate’ him more.

He told me that story a lot.

Eventually it dawned on me he was dropping a hint.

I needed to appreciate him more because he was doing me a kindness.

The want or lack of beauty in people’s lives

makes them do some things that would make the most twisted demon in Hell blush.

Somewhere Out Of This World

If my dream could be granted and I could live anywhere in the world, it wouldn’t be anyplace on THIS world.

If you’re going to dream, dream big- right?

So If I could live anywhere I would want to live on a pulsar planet- or as they are also known as a ” Zombie Planets “.

Nobody really has come up with exactly HOW a planet came to survive a Super Nova- some people chalk it up to luck, some think the planet died and somehow came back to life, other people think that these worlds of the dead were rogue planets that were captured by the pulsar.

All I know is that if I lived on one of these planets, I’d open up a cemetery  like the one on Basin Street in New Orleans and I’d build myself a caretaker’s cottage- with black windows that glow, just a little a deep dark red.

And sometimes, I would wander out dressed as the Grim Reaper  and stand on a hill and freak out other space travelers as they fly by.

Sigh.

Like I said, if you’re going to dream…super nova that baby and dream big.

Upon Reflection

I remember when I was little and I was at some family event with my parents.

My Mom was watching my cousins play ball, some of them ran up to her and sang a song that they had learned in school. Another proudly showed her a ribbon he had won in an event called ” Field Day “.

Then my Mom looked down at me and I will never forget the the look of disappointment on her face.

Sometimes when I go back on that memory I try to not remember that last part, but it’s hard not to.
