A Discouraging Word

RDP Friday Prompt: Mob

Baskets of warm cookies sitting on the kitchen table

and happy children playing  at my feet

while golden rays of Sunshine are streaming through all of my  windows

and birds singing under happy clouds floating above happy trees

because that’s what comes to mind when I hear the word

” Mob “

For Real?

No. Really. No.

When I hear the word mob I think of

angry twisted mouths

spewing hateful words, and spittle woven together with the phrase

” MAGA MAGA MAGA “

Mobs are the Psychopomps

sharing one face, one voice, one brain

looking for souls- any soul to take with them

into the abyss.

Mob.

Oh Yes She Did

Word of the Day Challenge: Awkward

Once I had a friend – well, I thought she was a friend land a good job. It was one of those stepping stone jobs. It turned out to really work out for her, and on the night when her hard work paid off the first person she grabbed and kissed was my husband.

She walked by me and winked.

A few years later, when she was on the verge of being fired from the job she got because I set that stepping stone I put out for her- she stopped me at an event on the stairway and demanded…. not asked, not pleaded but demanded I help her figure out how to keep her job.

No, I effing did not.

But part of me wanted to help her and to be honest I could have.

The entire situation was-

awkward.

Every Single Day

I have made myself a promise  for this year:

I want to live more and die less

every single day

I don’t want to tolerate intolerable situations

every single day

I’m not going to suffer fools or foolish talk

every single day

Last year was a lost year

and I have resolved that this year won’t be lost

the way last year was.

I guess I won’t get it back

but I can make it count.

Every single day.

I Probably Should Not Write About Love

Word of the Day Challenge: Beloved

He told me

he settled for me.

He told me

he deserved more, she deserved better

they deserved each other.

I may not have been the beloved

but I am very happy to  Bedevil

freely, joyously,  every single day

wherever I can and to whoever I can.

It  really is a blessing

when the road rises up to meet you

and the sun is shining

the birds are screeching

and the wolves are howling merrily out loud.
