The Happy Lil Plague Doctor

For #100DAYSOFHALLOWEEN HAPPY– Weekend Plans

Over the weekend Luis visited our Granddaughter and he decided to give her a gift (because he has never done that before hahahahahaha)

Seriously. This gift giving was different in that he was in Wisconsin, and he could give Jemma her gift in person instead of having it delivered by USPS or UPS.

It’s more fun that way, isn’t it?

I won’t keep you in suspense, Jemma was enchanted by this gift.

Her Papa Luis gave her a Plague Mask- they’re all the rage with Wednesday Addams fans ( lol) so Jemma was pretty excited to get one.

Jemma also pointed out that her scary mask could also double as a Wizard’ s hat:

Happy one day closer to Halloween everybody! I hope you gave a scary mask in your future too.

When It Rains

The funny thing about storms-

the kind of storms that bring rain and thunder and lightning

is that for as much as I love the drama of it all,

when I am inside where it is safe and dry and warm

I still tread quietly, carefully, I would say furtively

from one room to the next

like the ghost  of a memory that leaves  you at sunrise

but always comes back just before you fall asleep.

Lets Take A Walk, Shall We?

For #100DAYSOFHALLOWEEN HAPPY-Small Businesses

If you’re in Victoria BC over Halloween, then I would urge you to take The Ghostly Walks Tour:

If you take the nightwalk tour  and  it is a little foggy and there is a little bite to the air then your experience will be complete- as in completely spectacular.

On the tour I took I learned about a Haunted Candy Shop and  author  Robert Service aka The Bard of The Yukon ( I’m a fan now). I also learned that Jack The Ripper may have called London his home but other brutal killers were partial to Islands and that the next time I walk by an old world court house  I’m going to wonder how many people were hung on the property before the building was repurposed and  now houses offices and storage space for furniture and outdated tools and computers.

I am partial to Victoria for a lot of reasons- one being my family lived there before they emmigrated to the US sometime in the 1920’s and I also love Victoria because there are ghosts on every corner.

If you don’t believe me, go up to Victoria, take the Ghostly Walks Tour and see  for youself.
