An acquaintance of mine is one of those people who will thank people in military uniform ‘for their service’ when she runs into them at the grocery store or at the park or at the mall.

She stands, with tears in her eyes and her hand over her heart at parades and she chokes up just a little when the military  bands march by.

She is a patriot to the marrow of her bones.

She also gave me a list of properties  in the area I was moving to  so that I could avoid moving to those areas because ‘military families’ live there and those neighborhoods are ‘troubled’.
