WP Daily Prompt: What strategies do you use to cope with negative feelings?

Artist Unknown
When I am being flooded with negative feelings, either my own or those feelings that some people seem to enjoy putting on others I clean my brain.
My first go to is this- I put on my headphones and I play music from a list I tagged ” 78″.
I don’t abuse “78” . I don’t listen to it for fun, I don’t use it to fill in empty space. I listen to it when I need to rewrite my point of view. ” 78 ” has songs like ” New York Groove ” by Ace Frehley, ” Lido Shuffle ” by Boz Skaggs and the new version ” Let Me Be There ” by Olivia Newton John in a duet with John Farnham.
The funny thing is, I didn’t really like these particular songs when they first came out. They sort of grew on me.
If my music doesn’t help, I put my dog on his leash and we go out and walk, if we are lucky we run into other dog walkers and when I see how friendly and happy and well received by people and other dogs Hamish is I get a boost. In fact, it makes me feel pretty darn happy.
And then if those things only get me halfway home, I go to my blog and I read my work.
Some of it’s good, some of it’s not so good, but I know that there are times when I wrote those stories, posts and poems that my life was not just in ruins, it was in the process of burning itself straight to the ground- and there it is evidence that through all of that I wrote something and that NOTHING could stop me from doing something I really love to do.
There you have it, that’s how I get rid of my negative feelings.
RDP Thursday: LITHE

Photo A.M. Moscoso
By the time I was 12 years old I was 5’4″ and I weighed about 90 lbs.
Of course when you are tall at a young age, when you are sort of out there and people think you are creepy, they don’t say you are lithe or ‘tall and willowy ”
In my case my nearest and dearest told me I was ” overweight ” or some just straight up said I was fat and buying me nice clothes was a waste of money.
Of course nowadays I would kill to be around that weight and from what I’ve seen women my height have died trying to get there.
I must be honest.
I’ve always wanted someone to attach the word “lithe” to but no matter how many diet pills I swallowed, how many hours I spent at the gym, how long I starved myself for, I have never had a single person close to me say, when they described me, as I was anything other then ‘kind of big with frizzy hair”
So a few years ago my friend was talking about her daughter- who is truly a beautiful lady inside and out, she said that her daughter was always been lithe ( as to where she had to sort of work at maintaining her weight).
I always wanted to tell my friend’s daughter how lucky she is that her Mom, when she pictures her in her mind’s eye, see’s a lithe and graceful woman.
My friend’s daughter is lucky- she is so lucky.
On the other hand, I can comfort myself with that knowledge that a year or so after I am dead and nothing more then a box of bones under the ground I will be lithe too.
It’s just a shame I won’t be around to see it.

WP Daily Prompts ask: What movies or TV series have you watched more than 5 times?.
These are my Go To shows-I have them on DVD so I don’t feel bad about re-watching them when I want ( because it costs to stream stuff on cable and I try to stay under my data usage limit ).
There are a few other movies that I like to watch- but they’re holiday movies so I don’t think they count here.
