I’ve been participating in a writing adventure called ” Horrordailies ” since 2016.

Horrordailies is an offshoot of The Holidailies which has been going on a little longer, but between the two I give my all to the Horrordailies.

I post for each day in October and I work it!

But Horrordailies isn’t as popular as the Holidailies and I think the other challenge they sport called ” Thingadailies ” is pretty popular too.

The thing is, I was the only person to post for Horrordailies last year and I was kind of embarrased. I mean. I felt like I got stood up for a date or something. I don’t run the challenge and I’m not in  a postion to drive traffic to it because my Social Media presence is pathetic- my FB page is sort of a lonely train wreck and my blog- yeah well. It’s a labor of love. What can I say? I don’t do what I can to pull in readers so it’s sort of just – here.

But it’s an adventure of sorts, so sure. I’ll go along.

This year if the owners of the ” Dailies ” run the Halloween page  I’ll probably post there. But it would be fun to read Halloween work by someone other then me. Adventures are fun if you don’t have to go on them alone every single time.

Today I tried something new- with Halloween excitement nipping at my heels  I used  Google tools to generate AI artwork.

The idea was to riff off of a picture they provided, so I think I suggested bats and this  is what I got:

I’m not sure it understood what I suggested, but that’s ok. I think the results were a little spooky and weird looking, so mission accomplished!

For today’s Halloween Happy challenge I went to Google’s AI  Bard and keyed in the word ‘bat’. Then I went a little batty and keyed  in vampires and graves and moons and stars just to see what it would give me.

What do you know? The Bard  did give me something to think about ( I picked the pictures out myself ), so sure. It was fun. Check it out:

An Idea Or Two For Halloween

#100DAYSOFHALLOWEEN HAPPY #28 suggests making weekend plans.

I have a few ideas for things I’d like to do this Halloween season and here they are:

I work in Pioneer Square and I have run into this tour before. People were having a lot of fun and I did enjoy seeing the tourists reactions to the stories. I keep meaning to take it and maybe this year I will.

My warehouse is part of the underground system- so in a roundabout way, my neighbors are the ghosts of Seattle’s past. It’s awesome.

With all of its modern charm, few people would ever notice that there is an entire hidden underground city beneath the streets. This is known as the “Seattle Underground”, and it still contains shops and buildings that once served as the city’s businesses. When I was a kid I went on a field trip with my class to Port Gamble. We camped there over night and we were also the best behaved group of kids in the world because not one of us tried to sneak off at night  to look for ghosts- not even me. Something about Port Gamble at night was haunting. Even a kid could feel it. So we stayed in our tents and waited for morning.
