My Great Grandma told me

that in her Mother’s young day

she was told that

if lady lifted the hem off her dress

just above her ankles

it would make the men gasp

in delight.

My Mother told me

in her young day

that ladies were called girls and

girls were told if their clothes that covered them up too much

they would never know  what  freedom was

that in my young day

I  never listened when people

told me

how a woman should dress or behave.
