RDP Wednesday: Tiara

I won’t sugar coat it- when I was little I wanted to be a Disney Princess.

Specifically I wanted to be Snow White because she got to live in the woods with little trolls and her hair was jet black.

Of course in the end, she almost died and a Prince ( as far as I was concerned he was Captain Kirk ) had to save  her life ( OH THE SHAME OF IT ALL HA!).

I held tight onto that fantasy until a few of my school friends pointed out that I wasn’t white and therefore I could NOT be a Princess, let alone one called Snow White.

Some people are born jerks and they were put on this Earth to kill dreams. No kidding. It’s true. I know that for a fact.

So with my dreams of ever wearing a tiara, becoming a Princess and finding my Prince Charming ( Captain Kirk) dashed straight to Hell before I turned seven years old,  I resigned myself to a rocky, dark path. One that is full of monsters and deadly plants and haunted castles, cottages and graveyards. One  where the sky  is full of creatures with leathery wings instead of soft feathery ones.

On this path that goes from one horror to another. nobody sings and it is always midnight.

Like I said, some people are put on this Earth to dash dreams straight to Hell and with that they take the Dreamer along for the ride,  but those slayers of hopes and dreams also create Nightmares and as I consider that  in stealing that hope for  beautiful delicate tiara from me-

they may have done me a favor.
