Snoopy- 4 Ever
WP Prompt: Daily writing prompt: Who is your favorite Cartoon Character?
He was calm.
he was cool
he was collected
under any circumstance he found himself in.
He was independent
He was a fighter pilot and an adventurer.
He is Snoopy.
Snoopy was my hero because he was fearless- he even slept outside in the dark all by himself.
Snoopy was also an astronaut in real life, sort of:

The Lunar Lander from Apollo 10 had a nickname. It was called “Snoopy” after the dog in the Peanuts comic strip, by Charles Schulz. NASA thought that giving the lander and the command module names from the popular comic strip would help kids be interested in the mission. (The command module was called “Charlie Brown.”) Snoopy was sent off to orbit the Sun without another thought, and nobody thought to keep track of it.
In 2019 group of amateur astronomers in the UK thought they may have found Snoopy but I never saw an update, so Snoopy is still out there somewhere.
For the curious, this is what NASA’s Snoopy looks like:

To be honest though, when I think about ” Snoopy ” in space I see this:
and nothing will take that image of my Snoopy out of my head.

My Halloween Journal Day#1
Journal Prompt: What would be my perfect Halloween costume?
I haven’t dressed up for Halloween in ages, not because I’m not feeling it- I just hate shopping for clothes in general.
However, my granddaughter and her cousin just ooze the Halloween spirit and they have been know to chose not one but two costumes because they do two events- one is a dance at their School and a Spooktacular Fest early in October and Halloween itself on the 31st.
I visit my Son and his family for Halloween instead of Christmas because I love Halloween more, so I get to see Jemma in her costumes in person which means a lot to me.
My Granddaughter Jemma has been picking out her own costumes since she was 3, so it’s always a surprise to see what she’s going to be for Halloween.
The only exception was when she went through her Wednesday phase and I had sent her 3 Wednesday costumes for her to play dress up in. She Chose the one I put below to wear to her school’s Halloween dance because it’s a Wednesday ‘dance’ dress.
Costumes are so much fun now- they don’t smell funny anymore and the masks don’t have those strings that cut into the backs of your ears. But I’ll be honest, I was just as excited to wear our costumes that were made from plastic and tied in the back and smelled as funny as the masks as my Granddaughter is to wear her fancy, very cool costumes.
