In Reason to Believe, Bruce Springsteen sings, “At the end of every hard-earned day / people find some reason to believe.” What’s your reason to believe?

I don’t have a reason to believe in anyone or anything.

I don’ have any reason to wish or hope or dream.

No reason at all.

But sometimes

for a few seconds

for  as long as I can hold my breath

I do.

And then I let it go.
