I took these pictures from the King Street Train Station which in part is below street level in downtown Seattle.
The orange / yellow haze is caused the smoke reacting to the sunlight from two forest fires that have settled into a large area in Washington State.
This is the same area taken from a slightly different angle and I shot it from the shade.
The smoke didn’t show up in this shot because I moved a few feet down to a slightly covered area.
The smoke was still very much present even though you couldn’t see it.
As a side note:
I have never taken such quiet commuter train rides in this past year. Nobody is laughing or shoving or talking on their phones. Most people are walking a little slower and a few people are coughing.
I miss the blue sky and I miss real clouds- not that thick blanket of smoke that’s hanging up there pretending to be something it is NOT.
I hope it clears up, just a little and SOON.
