I didn’t plan on doing that, but once I got into the first episode I just kept going until it was over and I was sitting there with my empty popcorn bowl and a big satisfied grin on my face.
In the end I can’t say which of my scenes were my favorites because each scene was woven into the next in such a fashion that I really can’t tease them apart.
But there were the musical highlights and I LOVED those.
At the Never More soiree the students danced to “Goo Goo Muck” by the Cramps.
Goo Goo Muck came out when I was a Sophomore in high school and I did love that song. I also remember people dancing to it.
Wednesday used some of those moves that people did to punk music or new wave back then, but it was a lot more graceful and the passion in that wasn’t rooted in anger or the desire to not show passion of any kind at all. So I liked it. Oh heck. I loved it.
GOO GOO MUCKY BY THE CRAMPS
When the sun goes down, and the moon comes up I turn into a teenage goo goo muck Yeah, I cruise through the city and i roam the street Looking for something that is nice to eat You better duck When I show up… The goo goo muck.
I’m the night headhunter looking for some head With a way out body underneath that head Well I’ll get you baby with a little luck ‘Cuz i’m teenage tiger and a goo goo muck You better duck When I show up… The goo goo muck
Yeah, the city is a jungle and I’m a beast I’m a teenage tiger looking for a feast I want the most but i’ll take the least ‘Cuz i’m a goo goo muck tiger and a teenage beast, yeah… You’d better duck, you motherfuck!
…The goo goo muck.

Paint It Black is one of those songs that I seek out just so I can hear how people are arranging it.
The version from Wednesday featured a cello instead of vocals but what I thought set this apart from other versions is that the montage fit the song perfectly and as a BIG bonus ” Wednesday ” reminded me of a gargoyle when she performed the song. Her neck was stretched out, her hands looked like claws and she was looking down- but not at her hands.
The visual and the music created a truly memorable version of this song:
PS
There was a lot f buzz before ” Wednesday ” came out about why this wasn’t released at Halloween and dropped before Thanksgiving.
Well it features Pilgrims and in a round about way Thanksgiving.
The tradition in mah neck of the woods is fer Ma an Pa to pack up the young-uns into their over priced Bro Dozers and head off to their Mothership- other wise known as Walmart- where they kick off the Christmas season by participating in a ritual called ” Black Friday. “
I truly and with all my heart hate the neck of the woods I moved to- moving here was one of the biggest mistakes of my life- and I hate the stupid traditions they celebrate.
So I am going to stay in with my dog and watch ghost movies until my eyes bleed because I’d rather have bloody eyeballs then to ‘celebrate’ a Black Friday that does not involve me spending time with people like Macbeth’s Three Witches:
