5 Things I associate with fall:

Crunchy golden and blood red leaves scattered on my front lawn

white bones in ditch at the end of the road  that floods in the Spring , the brittle bones were pitted by sun and rain and the heat of summer and the cold of winter.  They have gnawed on by a dog named Darwin.

Peanut butter Taffy wrapped in purple and black waxed paper nestled in a bowl on my kitchen table.

Pumpkins and apples waiting on my kitchen counter for their surgeries to begin

Firewood stacked against the side of my house, a summer home for mice and food for my  summer dusted fireplace.
