  1. I had to leave for another road trip for work right after the election. I was leaving the comfort, familiarity, and safety of my home to go south, in what has become very deep dark red territory. For the first time, I wasn’t looking forward to being in a new place. The promise of travel held no hope or joy for me. I ordered in, and stayed in my hotel all night. I need to figure out what kind of country I now find myself in before I can feel completely at ease again.

    • Trumpsters are going to lose their minds when he is sworn in.

I’m not sure how I will spend that day, though armed with my trusty hockey stick seems like a good idea.

      • It’s frightening. I remember when Brexit happened the number of hate crimes in the UK also jumped, as if one event justified the other. it’s scary to think people can see the US as a safe haven for hate or racism. I’ll keep my family and friends close, as many will feel particularly targeted.

  2. The last words reminds me of what King Theoden said in Lord of the Rings just before Saruman’s army attack Helmsdeep. There will be no dawn for men Saruman said. I could see Trump say that lol.
