Girl Power

I am woman hear me roar!

But I like to wear pink, I like to giggle and not think about World Peace  and Carbon Footprints.

I don’t want to chip my nails, I don’t want to change the oil or pump gas into my car

or carry heavy bags out of the store.

Feminism kicked me out of her club and told me to come back when I am woke.

Listen up.

I’ve got a wicked left hook and if you try to pat me on the head I’ll snap

your arm like a dry twig  that’s  headed for the fireplace  in November

Don’t call me cupcake, don’t call me a tough cookie

Just call me

Meaty Muffin.

Tumbled To Perfection

Putting My Feet in the Dirt: September Prompt #18 : Polished to Perfection

Her nails were perfect

her hair was too

her smile was the best smile money could buy

and so were her boobs.

Her beauty was like those rough little stones

you polished and tumbled for nights

and when they were done and looked like jewels

you wore them with childlike  delight

but if they were flawed,

straight to the garden they went

to live with the mulch

and slugs.

October Treasures

Here are the most recent additions to my Halloween décor.

My niece created the centerpiece- my contribution was to buy a bunch of stuff that looked cool ( the purple flowers have eyeballs in them, fake ones- I know bummer ) and to dump them on the table in a jumble and she did the rest.

The Gargoyles are part of my year round gargoyle family. I collect them. The two in this picture were gifts from one of my sons.

So you know this print is going to stay up on my wall year round, right?

Luis gave me this book. It’s fantastic. The drawings are beautifully done ( on the macabre side but…YAY ) and I’m treating myself. I’m only reading a few pages a night… you got that right?

I’m only going to read this book at night. Probably by candle light. I can’t imagine a better way to do it.

So here they are, my newest October treasures.

For the curious, yes the hunt continues.
