Yep. I Did It

I got so tired of hearing people argue and debate when people should put up their  Christmas tree and I was party to more then one conversation where the law was laid down and a solid date to when one could start  watching Christmas movies  that in a huff  I decided I’d put my tree up and I’d watch a Christmas movies and drink egg nog as I worked.

I really, really hate it when people tell me how to wear my hair ( based on my age, it should either be short and efficient or long, scraggly and gray ) what to read  and when to chuck my Halloween pumpkin out and when I should start listening to Christmas music.

I was feeling defiant and rebellious today so I busted out the Christmas decorations.

I got the tree up, and after three tries I got the lights on. Good God that was a mess. I swear it was like those strings of lights wrapped themselves around the branches and tried to strangle the tree to death.

Good thing it’s an artificial tree.

To be honest my act of rebellion had lost it’s edge after that. I was on the verge of dragging the entire mess down to the dumpster, but I took a breath and soldiered on.

So here is what it looks like when I take my stubborn attitude, splash it with eggnog and sprinkle it candy cane chocolate kisses and focus on the task at hand.

I must say, I may have started out feeling a little snarky and bit defeated because the mess I made out of the lights, but at the end of the day I was feeling a little bit jolly.

So there.

    • This is the first time I didn’t decorate with more traditional colors and ornaments- which are great, but I wanted to try something new. I was very happy with then results!
Thank you for reading my post.

  1. What great ornaments you have. I think you should wear your hair and decorate your tree whenever/however you want. But then I’m 78 and don’t care what others think. Great to see you on Holidailies.

    • Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed my tree. I wanted to move away from traditional ornaments because I’m not so traditional anymore. Plus, I love the ocean so it made sense. Thanky you for the welcome to Holidailies Beverly!
