Just Call Me Lola

RDP Sunday: RASCAL

Lola

Back in the 70’s when I  was a little kid,

when my brother or cousins ( the boys ) or my neighborhood friends ( the boys )

did things like pulling pranks on our teachers, or taking dares or they broke windows

if they laughed to much or to loud and told dirty jokes

they got called ‘lil rascals and scamps.

When me and my friend Linda did those things, we got hauled into the Principal’s

Office, our parents got called and we were tagged as show-offs and big mouths on the

verge of not only becoming delinquents, but possibly mental defectives too.

When I was a teenager ( and well into my adult life ) guys who cheated on their

girlfriends  were scamps and rascals.

If you were a girl and did the same thing, you were a slut.

Lola Montez
By: Joseph K. Stieler

Lola Montez was a dancer, she was witty she had a wild love life, she horse whipped an editor who gave one of her performances a bad review.

Lola was a rascal.

Let me tell you a little secret.

My granddaughter calls me what a lot of Filipino children called their Grandmothers- to Jemma,  I am Lola.

That’s not exactly the only reason I decided to have her call me Lola and maybe one day

I’ll tell her.

Or maybe I won’t.

I’m a rascal, what more can I say?

Little Windows

I’m flying to Wisconsin at the end of this week.

It’s snowing and it’s cold – so I’m getting in the mood by looking through these little windows:

Earthquake Cats

Happy Caturday!

In case you’ve never seen how cats react BEFORE and during an earthquake, here you go. It’s true you can find anything on youtube.

From what I read some of the cats  in the video couldn’t be bothered to move ( and before you jump to it’s shock, give me a minute ) and some cats did race for cover but as a big FYI, none of the cats here were hurt.

As to the non-plussed cats, that’s how my cat  reacted ( or didn’t )when Seattle had the Nisqually Quake in 2001.

My cat Wolfgang was sleeping on his favorite shelf and just before the quake hit.

During the event,  I was told her rolled over, gave the evil eye to my dogs who were on the verge of having a panic attack and when they sat down next to him and looked like they were going to not loose their minds,  he rolled back over and resumed his nap.

That’s right. There was  6.8 quake shaking the ground under his paws and my cat kept himself together.

The Mummy Has A Head

RDP Thursday: Inchoate

This isn’t a deformed  Creepypasta character haunting the internet but at first glance you might think it has to be-

Meet one of the animatronic characters from the Disneyland’s Pirates of the Caribbean.

When I did a search to date this picture I got  a series of pictures that BING said looked like this photo, I ended up with with pictures from surgical procedures. They were in B/W which made them all pretty morbid looking.

And not morbid in the good way that I like.

I actually nixed a lot of the first shots and didn’t even consider posting them because they were B/W pictures of tumors and deformed babies- and I’m a little on the dark and macabre side but those shots are just heartbreaking.

However, In THAT group was this picture of a mummy housed in the British Museum that is 5000 years old and it has tattoos- which places it as the earliest example of this kind of artwork.

I am so confused by BING’S grab in this case.

The mummy has a head.

I’m really stuck on that- the mummy has a head and he didn’t look deformed to me. I mean come on BING.

The mummy has a head.

You can do better Lil search engine, I know you can.
