WP daily prompt wants to know: What notable things happened today?

Well Daily Prompter,  there is this saying that people  pop out when they want to start drinking booze early in the morning- they say something like ” Well, it’s noon, or Five O’clock  SOMEWHERE.

That takes us to Mars- hang on, all shall become clear in a moment .

As I’ve shared on my blog OFTEN, I love the winter. It’s my favorite time of the year and there’s only a few months where I am not planning for Halloween or the Winter holidays.

Right now as  I’m being brutally  force marched straight into Summer,  NASA reminded us that it IS Winter on Mars  and my little heart just exploded  with joy.

Hear that? It is Winter SOMEWHERE and that news  made today a notable day because specifically it was (in April when the photo below was taken) – Winter on Mars- my most favorite planet in the Solar system.

I love Venus too  because it can smoosh you like a grape and turn your blood to acid but I’ll get into that later. Promise. Today I am thinking about Winter and not psycho planets that want to  kill  you.

Winter On Mars: Curiosity Rover

The postcard is an artistic interpretation of the landscape, with color added over two black-and-white panoramas captured by Curiosity’s navigation cameras. The views were taken on April 8 at 9:20 a.m. and 3:40 p.m. local Mars time, providing dramatically different lighting that, when combined, makes details in the scene stand out. Blue was added to parts of the postcard captured in the morning and yellow to parts taken in the afternoon, just as with a similar postcard taken by Curiosity in November 2021.
