Yes! I’ve tried signing off too. But I miss people as well. So I’ve ‘culled’ and ‘snoozed’ those who’s drivel curdles my senses.
I did that too. Besides, most of the “friends” are there to snoop so had no problem with snoozing them.

I don’t know if being quarantined during the pandemic has made us better people, but social media (e.g., Twitter and Facebook) has made us seem worse.
Social media is a cage. I would love to sign off and I probably could. I just have to make my mind up to do it. It’s not like anything I say really matters there and most of the people who ‘friended’ me are just there to snoop.
