When my nieces were little girls, I was telling them stories about our family
and it came up in the conversation that I was half white and half Filipino
and my niece who was about three at the time had an ‘ ah ha ‘ moment and she said
” Oh! So you are a Jalapeno! “
I pondered on this for a moment and then I said-
” Yes. Yes I am. “

My answer is short and sweet and simple-NONE of them are my favorites.
I believe that if you want to convey a feeling or a story in an image, make them meaningful. Make them pleasing to the eye and have them tell a story.
These images from the Egyptian Book of The Dead do that.
So the next time you are tempted to use an emoji, use something like these images. No cheating. Don’t turn them into Memes. I like meme but these images already tell a story.
So why use these images in part or in all of their glory you ask?
Because the internet is a wasteland and emojis are the dull Patron Saints of all who dwell there.
