Is It Sunny On Mars Today?

When I was about 7 years old I was climbing a tree in my backyard.

I had to be careful because there was a bee hive hanging from one of the branches  , so I remember I had one eye on it- well, I probably had both eyes on it and that’s why I missed the next branch and fell.

I hit the ground hard enough to knock the wind out of myself and for a few seconds I couldn’t take a breath.

Had I not had a lot of experience in falling out of trees, I may have been scared when I couldn’t breathe ( goes without saying I couldn’t yell for help either ) but I knew it would come back so I looked up through the branches of the tree and I remember thinking:

” I wonder if it’s Sunny on Mars today.”

So over the years, when my brain was idle that thought would pop into my head, ” I wonder if it’s Sunny on Mars today? ”

I’d laugh and think to myself, ” You’ll never know. Will you?”

Well LOL past self.

We know what it’s like when it’s Sunny on Mars and what it looks like when the Sunsets on  Mars.

I’m a little sad that I don’t have to wonder what it looks like when the sun sets or rises on Mars anymore.

However, yesterday I was on the train going home and just as I was about to fall asleep because the view from the railroad tracks I commute over every day is the ugliest view anywhere on the planet and it hurts my brain just to look at it, I thought to myself:

Could you fly a spaceship through Saturn?

Yeah.

I wonder.
